Holidays & Breaks

BaseCamp will provide breakfast, and morning/afternoon snacks, but lunch must be brought from home. During Break Schedule weeks, there may be field trips requiring additional items (i.e. sunscreen, library card, towel, spending money...etc.) If there are any additional required items, the BaseCamp Director will notify parents via email or in-person ahead of time. The field trip schedule will be sent out via email prior to the Break Schedule to let parents know what to expect and to decide if they want to attend. Some field trips will be to the Washoe County Library to pick out books for Library Hour, so please make sure to send your camper with a library card, a book for them to read or a coloring book to draw in during that time. Any adjustments to the Break Schedule will be communicated to parents via email or newsletter ahead of time.

BaseCamp will be closed on the holidays listed below, and these weeks are still billed as traditional weeks. (If the holiday is on a Saturday, BaseCamp will be closed Friday. If the holiday is on a Sunday, BaseCamp will be closed Monday. These details will be on the annual calendar):

●  Labor Day
●  Veteran’s Day
●  Thanksgiving Break: BaseCamp is closed on Wednesday and reopens Monday at 7:00 am.
●  Christmas Break: BaseCamp closes at noon on Dec 22nd and reopens at 7:00 am the 27th  
●  New Year’s Day: Will be observed Jan 2nd and BaseCamp will be open 7:00am on the 3rd
●  Memorial Day
●  Fourth of July
*If the Center is closed additional days/times, families will be notified as far in advance as possible.
